Yasoo Health Ltd. receives a research grant from the European organization EUREKA for its Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program
February 1, 2007 - Yasoo Health Ltd (Yasoo) announced today that it has secured a research grant from the European organization EUREKA (www.eureka.be) to support its research and development work on a product for the management and adjuvant therapy of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).
The grant, worth in excess of $220.000 over the next two years, will enhance the ongoing collaboration between Yasoo, the Universities of Cyprus and Crete, and the biotechnology start up, Bionature E.A. Ltd. (www.bionature.com.cy) IBD is a chronic inflammatory condition affecting millions of people worldwide, often exacerbated by malabsorption of important nutrients and antioxidants. The anti-inflammatory effectiveness of antioxidant / anti-inflammatory compounds will be evaluated in cell and animal models of inflammation, while clinical studies are also being planned.
